Sibley State Park Adventure!

(Friday, September 2, 2011) – Today was a wonderful day spent with my sweetheart, Flowergirl, at Sibley State Park.  We were blessed with a wonderful sunny, and mildly warm day, with a gentle cool breeze blowing across Lake Andrew, as we enjoyed a peaceful row boat afternoon!

We were able to rent a row boat at the gift shop, located by the beach on Lake Andrew.  We also found that this was the source of some yummy ice cream treats, that we enjoyed on a walk along the lake trail, after our row boat adventure!

Sweethearts – Flowergirl & Explorerhawk, a day boating on the lake

We were blessed to have a beautiful day to enjoy rowing on the lake, and were surprised that there was, at times, virtually no other people enjoying the lake on such a wonderful day.

Lake Andrew – peaceful on this late summer afternoon

We enjoyed a hike along the lakeside trail after our three hour row boat adventure on the lake.  We then strolled along the fishing pier and gazed into the lake, looking at the sunfish that would occasionally come to the surface and create tiny ripples in the calm lake surface.

We then tried our luck at skipping stones across the water’s surface, and Flowergirl proved to be the most skilled at this – with a stone that skipped about a half dozen times or more!  We are so blessed, and enjoyed this wonderful day spent together enjoying God’s creation outdoors.
