(Sunday, July 24, 2011) – What a fantastic day today was, a typical Sunday involving crawling through a mud pit, scaling walls using a rope, sliding down a water slide, leaping over burning fireplace logs – yes – it was Warrior Dash Minnesota held at Afton Alps on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
Today I was blessed to have my sweetheart (and fiancé) Linda join me on a fun adventure, and she took some awesome photos that are displayed in this blog!

We arrived at a local farm, located a few miles from the Warrior Dash site at Afton Alps, and parked for $10 & then took a school bus ride to the dash! The ride was very adventurous in its own right, and could very easily be considered one of the hazards for the day!

After a harrowing bus-ride, arrived at the Warrior Dash site @ Afton Alps & managed our way through the crowd to pick up the Packet, that included the official “number”, a t-shirt, horns (kinda like what the loyal order of water buffaloes might have worn in the Flinstones), and a chip that you laced in your shoes (kept track of your time through the course). The site was festive, muddy, and crowded with Warriors of many shapes & sizes (and costumes)! Below are some great photos taken of some of the sights of the day.

The mud pit right near the end of the course made sure that all had a good coating of mud for post dash photos! The course started with a “blast of fire”, and ended with a pit of mud, with lots of fun obstacles in between!

Warrior Dash 2011 was a fun and adventurous day, spent with my sweetheart – so blessed!
