(Friday, April 12- Sunday, April 14, 2019) – A springtime trip to Kansas City included a Segway tour, a Royals baseball game, and some delicious food, including the iconic Kansas City food – barbecue! Saturday, April 13th included a morning tour of Kansas City museums, Parks, and History as part of a two (2) hour Segway tour.

The Segway tour include a visit to the Westport area of Kansas City where we learned about the Q39 restaurant & it’s legendary barbecue. We investigated this further over lunch and confirmed that the barbecue was indeed delicious at Q39 – yum!
An unfortunate knee sprain during the Segway tour kept Linda from attending the baseball game during the windy 50 degree weather. Virgil braved the elements and visited Kaufman stadium – home of the Kansas City Royals. Kaufman stadium is very family friendly and has the water fountains beyond centerfield.

On Sunday, April 14th, we headed towards Wichita, Kansas – and on the way, we made a visit to the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.

We enjoyed the time we had in our brief stay in the Kansas City area!
