(Saturday, July 31, 2010) – Charles Lindbergh State Park is located about one mile south of Little Falls, MN, on Highway 52. It was a beautiful summer day, sunny and about 85 degrees, on my visit to this park.
I stopped in the Park Office and picked up a hiking map, and asked if all of the trails were open, and what would be the best trail for a day hike of a few hours. The Ranger said the best trail for a day hike would be the Hikers Club trail, so I headed out to the trail for another day of fun hiking!
The Hikers Club trail was accessed by crossing a small pedestrian bridge over Pike Creek. A steep incline, with steps awaited on the other side of the bridge.
The Hikers Club trail was mostly covered by a canopy of trees, which included a moderate amount of mosquitoes and deer flies (haha).
Halfway into the hike, there was an awesome oasis of open pasture, with the sunshine cascading down on me like a warm blanket – it felt wonderful (also to be out of the mosquitoes – haha)!
Some of the visible wildlife along the trail were squirrels, birds, and some bunnies crossed the trail in the pasture area. What a wonderful hike on this beautiful day – I feel so blessed and fortunate to be able to enjoy God’s creation!
Minnesota has such a wonderful state park system, and this is another park worth the visit!
